The Dollard Centre for the Arts is honoured to partner up with the nationally celebrated and award-winning Montreal based Geordie Theatre!
Celebrating over 40 years as one of Canada’s preeminent Theatre for Young Audiences company, Geordie Theatre champions the powerful impact of theatre by working with emerging and established professional artists from various disciplines and cultural backgrounds; creating works that are provocative, relevant and enchanting. Every year since 1980, they have delivered more than 200 performances to over 40,000 children, teens and their families, ensuring that theatre remains accessible to all.
Its acclaimed Geordie Theatre School (GTS) is celebrating its 14th anniversary and is proud to have taught over 3500 children and teens so far. GTS helps children and teens build a solid foundation in acting by studying with passionate and caring professional educators and artists. The school bases its curriculum surrounding fundamental values of Confidence, Creativity, and Craft where they not only encourage the value of theatre for young people but also offer important tools in fostering exceptional leaders of tomorrow.
These values are an integral part of DCA youth programming and we are honoured to welcome Geordie to the DDO Civic Centre. Join us as we build together an impactful GTS West!
