Linda Beck Sidel

Linda Beck Sidel

Linda Beck Sidel creates acrylic paintings based on photography of her travels and of objects/subjects that interest her. These photos provide her with a vast array of imagery from which she derives her inspiration. To create her paintings, Linda uses the image transfer process, a technique that allows her to marry two types of creative methods, which is made possible by advances in acrylic paint technology. She uses it as a form of visual elaboration, to create a relationship between her two passions, photography, and painting.

By transforming these images with paint, she shares her observations through her emotional colour palette. It becomes a way for her to create impressions that will perhaps jog a viewer’s memory of other places, experiences, or moods.
